Have you ever felt the need to do something good? Do you have shoes that are just lying around and you either haven’t worn them in forever or that were an impulse buy and you haven’t touched since you bought them? Need to do a closet clean? Well here’s your chance to make a difference and help out a cause that’s near and dear to me.

We (A hybrid love), in participation with Tiger’s Den Martial Arts & Soles4Souls are teaming up to help fight the human tragedy of global poverty. The shoes that we collect will be delivered to Soles4Soules, an international anti-poverty organization that monetizes used shoes & clothing to create sustainable jobs and fund direct relief efforts, including the distribution of new shoes and clothing. Founded in 2006, the organization has distributed more than 26 million pairs of shoes in 127 countries. WOW.

The connection between poverty and shoes is well documented. The World Bank estimates that approximately 400 million children worldwide – more than the entire U.S. population – live in pronounced poverty. Millions of these children will grow up never having had a pair of shoes, resulting in significant ramifications for their health and well being. Lacking proper footwear, countless children will not be able or permitted to attend school. And tens of millions of these poverty-stricken, barefoot boys and girls will be infected with soil-transmitted parasitic diseases like hookworm, causing lasting suffering and lifelong debilitation.

The simple truth is that your unworn shoes will end up in a landfill and create more pollution than necessary. Give us your unworn/old shoes and we’ll take a step in making the world a better place for all. We want to ensure that these children and adults have something warm on their feet for the holidays and not have to suffer in the cold.

Our goal is to collection a minimum of 300 shoes by November 15th. I think we can do that and more! Be apart of the movement and bring us your shoes!

We will be collecting shoes at any of the Tiger’s Den locations in the Clear Lake area. You are more than welcome to drop them off or gather up a bunch and we can meet up for collection. If you are not in the Clear Lake area, I am more than willing to meet you to pick up shoes from you.

Let’s do something good this holiday season & give back to those in need!
